Lufthansa announces an expansion process

German airline Lufthansa, has announced that will begin an expansion process
due to it counts with the 12 percent of the landing rights UK and Europe´s
airports.
Its president, MR. Wolfgang Mayhuber, said percentage includes the airport
of Heathrow, London and that they think to count on with more marks, as for
example British Midland, where its participation in the shareholders is
minority (30% of the actions), being this one the second airline company of
the United Kingdom.
Lufthansa is owner of several of other airlines, like: Swiss, Eurowings, the
low-cost Germawings and participate with 20 % in SAS. Lufthansa, a
pioneering company in the industry of aviation, has its base in Franckfurt
and is partner of the alliance Star Alliance. According to published
numbers, this airline transported in 2006 more than 53 million passengers
and more than 1.700.000 tons. of load.
Its balance showed a gain of 803 million euros in 2006 and the company has
more than 93,500 employees.
