Mexico Airport´s new Terminal 2 with problems
On 15th January began operations in the Mexico Airport`s new Terminal 2, LAN Chile and COPA Airlines.
With this beggining of operations in the new terminal it has been seen that a great number of users has had problems with the transit between the old terminal and the new T2.
Nowadays exists an airtrain, which covers the distance between the terminals in 4 minutes and 40 seconds, but only can be used by the passengers with the boarding pass, which is very complicated when some airlines has no more ground crew in the T1, but other ailines like Aeromexico still has working machines to give the boarding pass to the passengers who will not to document their baggage.
In the T2 exists this kind of machines but they are not even working.
Concerning the companions, who go to leave the passengers, have two options:
- To go by car from T1 to T2 by the Hangares Ave., but it is always very bussy.
- To go in the buses that connect both terminals. In these buses the boarding pass it is not requested and have a cost of Mx$ 10.
The buses have the disadvantage of a 10 munites delay and the distance is covered in 8 minutes.
There is personnel of the airport that is dedicated to advise to the passengers for a better direction within the airport.
On the other hand there are companies like COPA that had their own light trucks to transport their passengers between both terminals, but this service finnished the past 20th January.
