Uruguayan Air Force`s aircraft crashes

Yesterday, a FAU`s PC-7U airplane fell to earth, dying in the accident both occupants of the airplane.
The cause of the accident seems to have been the impact against a bird of great size against the cabin of plexiglass.
The airplane was flying at 300 km/h and at 150 m over the land, in an instruction flight, the proximity of the land made any maneuver impossible to save the airplane and its crew.
In the accident died  Alf. Jonathan Martinez Méndez of 23 years (160 flight hours) and 2° Fl. Lt Diego Silveira Lujambio of 28 years (900 flight hours).
The training airship disappeared of the radars of the Operations Control Center of Santa Bernardina`s Air Base at 11.05 am. The zone where the airplane fell, about 25 km from the mentioned base, was quickly flown over by two helicopters and an airplane and after half an hour was found the rest of the airplane.
The Air Force´s Accidents Investigations Commission continues investigating the accident.
