Alitalia begins contacts with Air France/KLM

Italian airline Alitalia began contacts with Air France/KLM group in order to reach an agreement about the privatization of the first one.
Alitalia´s equity belongs in a 49.9% to the Italian Estate and the stocks of the company raised up 1.94% after the news about the contacts was known. This company is in big economic problems, although in the past six months it managed to lower the financial losses.
According to italian press, Air France/KLM sent to Alitalia´s headquarter high level executives to begin the conversations.
On the other hand, Alitalia tried to deny the high level contacts with the French-Dutch group.
Both companies have cross participation in their equities. 2% each one, and are partners in the Sky Team alliance.
